All your points are so truee, at least from my experience in doing bikram, indeed my body is also hunger for another challenge beside the bikram routines.

I tried Bikram Yoga and I did not like being the instructor. Ive practised bikram a few times and to be honest dreaded the classes but went anyway as i didnt want to give up. Anyway i did give up for a long time i think it put me off. Now i go to Hot Yoga and i love it.

No where near as strict and regimented i find it hard as it is without the teacher moving your leg into completely unrealistic positions. I love hot yoga and actually look forward to my classes and actually like my teacher!!! After years of off an on with Bikram Yoga with scheduling being the factor, I tried hot yoga out of convenience and detested it. Discipline is vital while challenging your body to go further in a move confidently and to properly set up. This is not social hour.

This is about you spending 90mins to think about nothing and feel where your body will go in the moves and set up for the next pose. Each pose has its function and flows in to the next. Taking your body further in the repeat pose. The heat is its own separate element. If you just want to sweat and release toxins then go to a sauna, drink some lemon and cayenne and stretch.

The point of the same poses and the orders from the teacher is for the whole class from beginner to more advance. Each class should get you closer to the achievable advanced pose. This is how injuries can happen. I do both. I started with hot yoga. Hot yoga classes will vary — between studios and between teachers in a studio — so you might end up with a routine if you go to the same teacher.

Also, in hot yoga they often use some of the same Bikram poses but also include some flow, some core, along with the balance and floor. Moksha, Sumit who is a nephew of Bikram btw and many other styles coined as hot yoga are either exactly the same, change a pose or 2, omit a pose or 2 or add a pose or 2 or 6, to the yoga series popularized by Bikram!

There are styles that add poses that include down dog, high and low push ups and other poses you find in Vinyasa, Power or Ashtanga classes. All you can do is investigate by either phoning, looking at a website or trying a class.
