The same way you merge any other kind of layers. Just copy and paste. This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible to merge two layers together? Would make my life easier :P. Response to Merging layers in flash? Not necessarily, but you can create a "layer folder" and just drag and drop your layers in there. You are effectively "merging" them, but should you decide you no longer wish them to be merged, you can just remove them from the folder.

The "create folder" option is right next to the "add motion guide" option which is right next to the new layer button. Here's a set of extensions One of them's Merge Layers. I have no idea if they're CS4 compatable - I use 8 for animation still, because clients complain if I use anything higher than Flash Player 7.
