It was nice to see our heroic characters deal with this dilemma. Oh hey, another reoccurring theme! Erza was definitely the centre of attention in this arc, but I do believe that the Magic Council had an important role in this too. We got to see their attitude towards things and how powerless they can be sometimes. Aside from that, Natsu developed a lot. Despite always being portrayed as a strong Dragon Slayer, Natsu turned out to be quite weak in this episode.
Still, he managed to defeat Jellal by risking himself for his friends. That shows how much Natsu cares about his friends and what a great character he is.
It showed us a new side to Erza. This arc was truly an emotional ride and it brought up a lot of good question concerning doing what you want vs. The Fighting Festival arc was a very unique and interesting arc.
The nakama concept was used against itself which was very interesting to see. It was also fun to see some new characters that were connected with Laxus such as the Raijinshuu. The three of them have certainly made the series a lot more interesting, especially Evergreen. This arc allowed us to see what characters were close to each other aside from our main team. I really loved seeing how Alzack went against his own friends for his beloved Bisca.
Some diversity is always appreciated. Aside from the morality of the characters, we were also given a chance to learn about Laxus as a character and his relationship with Makarov. I always wanted to learn more about them so this arc answered many questions. And not only did Gajeel join the good side, he also sacrificed himself by standing up for Levy and taking hits for her. That showed us how people can change, and I think that was very sweet. I remember I was crying a lot when Laxus had to go but I thought it was the fair thing to do.
I remember I thought that the villains in this arc were quite stereotypical and dull. I do admit, I enjoyed seeing Angel fight Lucy — that battle was magnificent, but aside from that, the other ones were quite predictable and simple. I loved seeing guilds work together to defeat a bunch of enemies. It was truly nice to see Lyon back again in a decent guild. I also really enjoyed seeing Blue Pegasus. Their introduction was hilarious. I have praised her several times in my previous posts and I will do it again.
Wendy as a character is truly amazing. She showed up as a timid little girl but has grown so much. Now she is a humble but strong warrior. I hope to see more girls among the Dragon Slayers in the future. Anyway, introductions aside, Jellal returned in this arc and we were shown the good side of him, or the true him.
I guess this arc had memorable characters but less memorable plot. I remember I found Daphne to be quite strange but I liked her.
The dragon themed arc was certainly very entertaining and it seemed like it was meant for all the fangirls. We had Gray and Juvia performing a Unison Raid together, which was absolutely glorious. I still remember that I had goosebumps all over while watching that scene. It fit the story and the length of it was quite decent. The Edolas arc is said to be the most popular one of this series. To me, it is definitely one of the best ones but not my favourite. I do admit, it was the most exciting one so far.
This had so many new things and a whole new world to explore. I loved seeing a mirrored version of Earthland where literally, everything was mirrored — even personalities! A grown up Wendy, a fully clothed Gray, an evil Erza, a Natsu who loves vehicles — everything was insane, in a good way of course. But what really amazed me in this arc was the idea of stealing magic from another world. Edolas is not a nice place, is it?
Good thing we have Mystogan! Because everyone is somehow Jellal, it was only about time to get rid of one of them — Mystogan. I liked seeing how Mystogan developed as a character. Something else that might be of interest is the fact that Lisanna returned. Stop staring at me! All I can say is that you have to see it to understand how great it is. There is just something about it that keeps you hooked.
I remember a lot of new tracks were introduced in this arc as well which made the fights even more exhilarating than they already were! I have no idea why I did that but I do not regret picking up this show here, not ever!
First of all, it made way for a lot of potential romance such as Elfman and Evergreen etc. This arc also showed us very different sides to the characters we are so used to seeing.
We saw Natsu face fear for the first time — and he actually gave up. We saw Cana reveal a huge plot bomb — Gildarts is her father.
We had Hades, Makarov, and of course — Mavis. Hades battle. I enjoyed seeing how everyone was unable to defeat the master but together using their combined strength managed to take him and his ship down. Aside from them, Gray faced Ultear and I believe his battle against her was the only one in the entire show that contained some form of blood! Frozen of course! Zeref returned in this arc, and this time in person. Anyway, this arc was filled with action, emotions, and revelations, and personally, this is my favourite arc because it shows how everyone comes together while facing danger.
It was a powerful scene that showed that no matter what, the guild members will always stand together, even in the face of death. That arc ending still gives me the chills. I thought it was interesting to see how much everyone had grown and what had become of Fiore. Luckily, Mavis saved them all and they were back. It was a brotherly one but so heart warming and sweet. It was also quite interesting to see how Alzack and Bisca finally got married and also had a daughter.
I do find Asuka insanely adorable. This arc, while being ridiculously short, brought quite a lot of value to the story because it made way for the final current arc which has a setting based on the time skip from this one. I mean, everything was written in a way so it would connect with everything else. Even though this story was a filler one, it felt relevant and it picked up pieces from old arcs in a way that made it seem like Mashima himself wrote this.
Who knows? Maybe he did? Links are appreciated! Anyway, to spare you some pain, I will not write too much about this arc because I have actually already shared my final impressions of it. This is the final and current arc of this series. While old questions are answered, new ones show up in every episode.
I do like how there are several new guilds in this arc. I loved seeing Sabertooth even though I absolutely cannot stand the attitude in that guild. They were created to be defeated. I like when villains are easy to loathe because that makes their defeat so much more enjoyable. Mashima did very well when he created that nasty guild, especially Minerva. Even if Sabertooth was created to be defeated, I liked seeing how strong they were at the beginning. She is strong but appears to be weak because of how unfair Mashima is to her.
I wish her potential would be used in fair battles. She deserves so much better. Erza, Cana, Natsu, Elfman, Mirajane — and even the other members who did not end up in first place — did very well. Oh boy, where do I start? First of all, if you read all that nonsense I wrote, here, have a cookie! If not — oh well, you can still have a cookie!
To me, the plot of this series is entertaining but not the strongest one there is, however, the characters are brilliant and have such outstanding personalities that the show simply seems amazing and I just disregard all its flaws yes, I admit, there are some flaws.
How do I even write about them? She has been the centre of attention throughout the entire series. From a young and timid child to a strong and independent woman. Lucy is definitely what a heroine should be like, admirable and humble.
Lucy is strong and capable of defeating villains but is always thrown at the ridiculously overpowered ones.
I wish the series would do her more justice considering what a great character she is and what kind of power she possesses. On to Gray, the cool guy.
I feel like he was created to be an eyesore to Natsu, which is completely fine with me because the two of them arguing is quite fun to watch. I find him insanely likeable and entertaining. Erza, the titania, wow, how do you even write about her? She is simply too cool for words. I always found Erza insanely attractive and admirable.
She is everything I respect. She is humble, caring, and kind. She knows how to treat others. And what I love more than anything about her is that despite having such insane powers, she can also be very vulnerable.
Sometimes, I just wish I could reach out and hug her. Her personality may be unchanged but her strength is so great now. She has come a long way and still has a long way left to go.
I look forward to seeing her development. Natsu is my all time favourite anime character. He is quite like Erza, he is strong, holds a lot of power, but he uses them for good. Natsu is kind, caring, and he is always fair. He stands up for the weak, he is truly what a hero should be like. He is also very entertaining, and he is always honest.
I enjoy watching a character who has an admirable personality but can also be very funny at some points. For anyone who wants to know what chapter to start from after the anime,it's More like words, and they were "FUCK! That whole bit after the credits was just full of suspense and mystery. And we wont' find out about any of it until the anime comes back. And of course if one reads the manga, which I don't want, because I prefer watching anime. But I guess, since it is unknown about how long we have to wait for the anime to come back then I guess I will read the manga.
And Lucy is in the middle of it, the strange guy that is organizing this will use her as sacrifice to save the world? Well that's what i got from the last few eps. And then Levy at the end, after those fateful events, lived to tell the story. And she mentioned about at least 2 people dying, one of whom she loved. And well my guess to that would be Gajeel, but who knows it could be someone else. And what I want to know is what happens to Lucy?! Because ever since the "Grand Magic Games" Started, she's been narrating the episodes, and mentioning in bits about that "Fateful day".
And she is always talking "TO" Lu-chan. So sad, :. Can't believe it they ended it here For now I was getting all excited with all this suspense. But man. Well like I said before I will have to read the manga to find out. Anyways FT is truly one of the best anime for me. All the characters are great, and I don't think there is one that I dislike. The stories and arcs are awesome too, and the action of course never fails.
And for season 2, I hope it airs at a "more adult" time, and like some people have mentioned before, it will be even better.
No need to watch out for children who watch this damn it. For those of you who have been watching this since it started, props to you. By then I wasn't watching anime, so there's that. And I actually started marathoning the anime very recently and I caught up exactly when the Grand magic games started. But I enjoyed it. I will miss you Lucy. Please please dont be like rave master all over again : , finish what you started. Loved the action in the match and still can't stop laughing when he put Gajeel into a mine cart.
Great background music, loved what Lucy said "Ever since i joined Fairy Tail i've allways belived in you Natsu" really moving Believe it or not, I found a forum somewhere that answers all the anime's unanswered questions for those daring to spoil themselves. You can find it here. I remember when Fairy Tail first several episodes were already out and I decided to watch the first episode.
However, I did not continue onto episode 2 as I had a lot of other anime to watch as well. It was interesting but I just simply did not continue.
I completely fell in love with the anime. I absolutely love the characters, the story, and fight scenes. From this final episode, it seems like they will continue animating it sometime in the future and I hope they do. I have not read the manga but I will if the anime has truly ended.
I hope that this show comes back soon. Still terrible animation as usual though. Although, it was rather smart of them to end it in a cliff hanger making the audience want more. Either way, Fairy Tail the anime was cringe worthy to watch too many times, and it seems like they never get anywhere with all these arcs that they do.
So wait. Lucy dies. What the fuck just happened. Who else died, where's the rest of the guild, what just fucking happened. Did the tournament end prematurely or did FT lose. SO many questions and that's just from the last couple of minutes. Dragon graveyard, eclispe project, sabertooth being defeated, survival games, weird woman with zeref's power, levy crying in the end etc Rydako said: wow. I realized when I heard the news of it ending, that this would be the longest anime that I've ever watched as it aired from the first episode to the last.
Anyways it was an ok episode, pretty predictable. The anime ended without concluding any of the mysteries, it stayed generic to the end. You could totally tell the outcome of the fight, that some drama like that would turn up, and that Gajeel would find something. Really thought that they would reveal some stuff at the end and not leave such a cliffhanger. I guess it's smart if it ever comes back, but if it never comes back then it's a stupid move. Dammit second season now! The ending of the daimatou enbu is killing me.
Awesome Sig by Lailide. I know that Lucy dies in the manga but just don't get the part Levy cries at the end of the anime so confused.
Well, I loved every second out of it. The soundtrack, the characters, the story. It was all good! Profile Anime List. As Sting and Rogue lie beneath the arena and sadly contemplate their loss, Jellal follows the hooded figure out of the Domus Flau , and Natsu visits Lucy with Gray and Erza. As everyone praises Natsu for his victory, Natsu comments that it is only the beginning, and, together, the Mages vow to unite and make Fairy Tail the number one guild in Fiore once more.
In the catacombs of the Domus Flau, Gajeel angrily wanders, cursing Natsu for his previous actions. As he wonders where he could possibly be, the Iron Dragon Slayer suddenly comes across a huge cavern, shocked into silence to find that it is filled with a great number of Dragon skeletons.
In Mercurius , Yukino listens as a member of the army tells her of Sabertooth's loss, the ex-member commenting that she has no attachment to the guild any more, and that she is also not used to the title of "Sergeant".
The man replies that for her to assist in the Eclipse Plan, a temporary status is required, and Yukino contemplates that idea of assisting in the plan, as well as Arcadios ' social awkwardness for someone who is trying to save the world. As Carla, in the sick bay, once again has her frightful premonition, Levy , Jet and Droy all visit Lucy, Levy happily exclaiming that if Fairy Tail keeps up their valiant effort, they might actually have a chance at winning.
After the two talk for a bit, Levy wonders where Gajeel is, the Dragon Slayer himself still walking below the arena, wondering why it would be filled with Dragon skeletons. From a writing desk in a country covered in flames, a scarred and crying Levy pens a note to Lucy during the Grand Magic Games, detailing that on the 7th of July, the country lost to fate.
Wondering if Lucy remembers any of the happenings of the fourth of July, Levy scribes that many people she loved died, eventually breaking down and pleading for someone to help her. As the moon rises over Crocus, Jellal follows the hooded figure, and, when he believes they are away from prying eyes, removes his bandanna to reveal his face, approaching and asking them to do the same. As the figure relents and turns to face him, Jellal can only stare on in utter disbelief at who they are.
